Audi TT Roadster 3.2. Part 5

I managed to test only 3,2-liter all-wheel drive version TT Roadster which has been equiped additionaly by “automatic device” S-tronic and shock-absorbers Magnetic Ride. As before, “automatic device” with two disks of coupling is excellent! Fast change of transfers, effective regasing at switching “downwards”. And here the suspension bracket has appeared hardish. From model of such class you wait for greater comfort though BMW Z4 is even more rigid and not so precise behaves on the broken road. Probably, in memory memoirs about former TT in which comfort was more, than drive are still alive. This new, gift that the cabriolet, irons turns with unknown enthusiasm. Easy front, the rigid body and a full drive do the business excellently. And what Magnetic Ride? Near to selector S-tronic there is button ” Sport ” which does shock-absorbers even more rigidly. It is tempting, but only not on the broken roads because even in a normal mode the roadster shakes order. But rolls are almost imperceptible and besides excellent coupling with road., that here it at times seems - the moment when the electronic system of stabilization EDS will crack, ABS and in the long term will work squibs pillows of safety, but TT valiantly dispells fear, and you approach on following turn already with greater confidence. All occurs so quickly, that when comes to wipe time sweat from palms, you appear in destination. It is how much fast TT Roadster?
The theory of a design
Let’s return in 1999 Audi TT Roadster - the car to which have spoiled “ ah! ” Soft developing roof. The first TT was good in a body of a compartment, and the roadster with the closed roof looked not so harmoniously. Therefore the future roadster expected to see with a rigid roof, as at Mercedes-Benz SLK, Volkswagen Eos, Peugeot 307 CC, Opel Astra Twin Top, Ford Focus Coupe Cabriolet, at last, BMW 3-rd series Convertible. Yes how many has divorced these transformers! Similar, the Europe was grasped with a fashion on a compartment-cabriolets. But stop, if to me it is necessary for a compartment, I buy a compartment and if I prefer cabriolets, what for to me in that case the car which looks as a compartment and besides weighs more? Audi considers, that present cabriolets with a rigid roof are intrigues of ” white collarets ” from a department of marketing and the present cabriolet is necessary to people. To a word so consider not only in Audi, but also in Bentley which has let out new Continental GT Convertible with a soft roof. But if in case of with Bentley black made of textile fabric the top is a fidelity to traditions experts Audi have taken from these traditions also practical advantage. The fabric roof is much easier than a metal transformer - a roadster only on 35 kg more hard a compartment, and that additional kgs are typed because of application of the strengthened thresholds with cell rigidity and built in in a framework of a windshield of an arch of safety. And directly soft top, even in view of the mechanism of folding, weighs less, than an aluminium roof of a compartment. So besides high rigidity of a body (in comparison with the previous model rigidity on torsion has increased on 120 %!) the roadster can brag of lower in comparison from a compartment the centre of gravity. How it has affected controllability?
New Audi TT declares other values. And at stylistic continuity the second generation of model looks much more expressively. At last it is pleasant to look at it not only sideways and behind, but also in front. A sports rage, a pressure, aggression became more. But the main opening new TT is that pleasure at the wheel which so waited from the first machine. Later eight years after prime-ministers TT we have received from Audi the present sports compartment. The body is made on technology Audi Space Frame and on 58 % consists of aluminium. Why not on all of 100 %? Because those of 42 % of steel of which the back part of the car is made, improve weighing on axes. Fasten aluminium to steel complex, but reliable way: welding, glue and bolts. That is why the body new TT is easier and much more rigid, than at the predecessor. Aerodynamics and distribution of elevating force on axes have improved: 60 % on a forward axis and 40 % on back, and owing to spoiler automatically put forward at 120 km/h it is possible to not be afraid, that TT will fly up. The interior became even more cosy, more qualitatively and is more spacious. There was the best, in opinion of jury of competition Engine of the Year, the engine - 2.0 TFSI (200 h.p.), and quick-firing “automatic device” DSG with two disks of coupling has received new electronic “brains” and name S-tronic. All became resolute in TT better, and abilities to active movement have risen on a level of other order. It turns out, it is already possible to send to the dealer? Certainly! If TT not the unique car in family, to you nobody to carry on a back seat and forecasts about global warming all the same will come true, it is necessary to wait spring 2007 and to become the owner new Audi TT Roadster.
