BMW 750 Li. Big, but easy

Fifth generation BMW of 7-th series debuts in the market with three variants of engines. On the test in Dresden we have tested the version with motor V8 in volume 4,4 л with a double turbo-supercharging and direct injection of gasoline. Uniqueness of this power unit (it, by the way, it is established and on sports crossover BMW X6) - in a combination of improbable elasticity and power. The maximal value of the twisting moment of 600 Nanometers this motor develops in a range 1750-4500 rev/min, and 407 “horses” easily and easy carry away the heavy car on rendezvous with space. On good road speed on BMW 7-th series is not felt absolutely! But fine roughnesses of a road cloth “seven” digests not too willingly. Completely to exclude unpleasant “tremor”, for example, on a stone blocks the adaptive shock-absorbers, capable to be arranged under features of a road cloth do not help a back pneumatic suspension bracket (on BMW 750Li and BMW 740Li it is established serially). In my opinion, as the engineers responsible for suspension bracket BMW of 7-th series tried, to achieve ideal balance between controllability and comfort to all of them it was not possible - sports notes in character of “seven” noticeably prevail of sybaritical spirit and impressive, peculiar to representation sedans of a premium-class. It is surprising, as this heavy car passes turns! Transfer of all technical decisions opening a secret of unique stability of the car, will borrow not one page. I wish to stop on an option for the first time presented in a segment of representation sedans. System Integral Active Steering not only is capable additional turn forward wheels, but also rejects back on a corner up to 3. On low speeds back wheels turn in opposite to turn of forward wheels the party that allows to reduce diameter of a turn to 70 sm in comparison with standard the chassis of “seven”. In fast turns back wheels turn in the same direction, as lobbies. In bends of any curvature at all you do not feel the sizes and weights of “seven” - full illusion was created, that in turns I operated not a representation sedan, and a brisk and easy compartment! The Additional effect from use of back operated wheels will be felt also by passengers on a back sofa of “seven” - fast evolution and turns occur smoothly, the car does not ransack at the rate. But as soon as the machine appears on a straight line, the sensation of solidity and reliability at once comes back. Unique nuance: aerodynamic noise on “autobahn” speeds have seemed to me excessive for a sedan of a similar class. New “seven” BMW, I think, will not cause the surprised sights and does not shock with design of the ex-terrier and an interior - the car looks how should look modern BMW. However, having got used to new shape of the Bavarian leader, we still should realize a space level of its technical perfection.

The test of a compartment passed in Austrian mountains and lengthways the rain has allowed though somehow to estimate advantages of a full drive. At passage of turns and start from a place electronic systems and a full drive stabilize movement of the car. For dispersal from a place up to 100 km/h of a compartment it is required only 5,4 with, and its maximal speed is limited on a mark of 250 km/h. The wet foliage and loam of soil road have allowed to estimate an innovation - two-disk socket interaxal differential. Owing to it the twisting moment is distributed between axes and moves on all four wheels. As before, all-wheel drive cars Mercedes are equipped with system of electronic stabilization ESP. If earlier rear wheel drive compartment MB was in constant war of the twisting moment with monitoring systems of draft and course stability for today all is subordinated total realization of all systems and a full drive. With the unique purpose - maintenance of a high level of comfort in any road conditions. In a word, a synergy in the name of the person.

Representatives of PR-service GM position Insignia not as inheritrix Vectra, and as absolutely new model with own market niche and the clients. Probably, it only a PR-course as the continuity between Vectra and Insignia is obvious, and the lion’s share of buyers will make, on calculations GM’s, former owners of a retiring leader. Anyway, GM and Opel enter let one leg, but a bonus field. And though intention to be overcome for clients Audi, BMW, Lexus and Mercedes is not declared, it is read between lines. More than it is enough bases for such bonus positioning. Here both the increased dimensions, and the improved noise isolation, both stylish design, and more dear materials of furnish. At last, there was more competitive stuffing - first of all, option a full drive, the adaptive chassis and an independent four-lever back suspension bracket. The price question, as usual, is veiled. The price of base version Insignia with the 1,6-liter 115-strong engine is declared and 6-step МКП - such car will manage in 670 thousand roubles. Though, frankly speaking, it is a pity. The diesel versions tested during the test very much have liked. Though also petrol have impressed rather favourably. Petrol motors it is offered two.
