The theory of a design
Let’s return in 1999 Audi TT Roadster - the car to which have spoiled “ ah! ” Soft developing roof. The first TT was good in a body of a compartment, and the roadster with the closed roof looked not so harmoniously. Therefore the future roadster expected to see with a rigid roof, as at Mercedes-Benz SLK, Volkswagen Eos, Peugeot 307 CC, Opel Astra Twin Top, Ford Focus Coupe Cabriolet, at last, BMW 3-rd series Convertible. Yes how many has divorced these transformers! Similar, the Europe was grasped with a fashion on a compartment-cabriolets. But stop, if to me it is necessary for a compartment, I buy a compartment and if I prefer cabriolets, what for to me in that case the car which looks as a compartment and besides weighs more? Audi considers, that present cabriolets with a rigid roof are intrigues of ” white collarets ” from a department of marketing and the present cabriolet is necessary to people. To a word so consider not only in Audi, but also in Bentley which has let out new Continental GT Convertible with a soft roof. But if in case of with Bentley black made of textile fabric the top is a fidelity to traditions experts Audi have taken from these traditions also practical advantage. The fabric roof is much easier than a metal transformer - a roadster only on 35 kg more hard a compartment, and that additional kgs are typed because of application of the strengthened thresholds with cell rigidity and built in in a framework of a windshield of an arch of safety. And directly soft top, even in view of the mechanism of folding, weighs less, than an aluminium roof of a compartment. So besides high rigidity of a body (in comparison with the previous model rigidity on torsion has increased on 120 %!) the roadster can brag of lower in comparison from a compartment the centre of gravity. How it has affected controllability?
